Sr Angela’s First Profession, 20th August 2015

On the Feast of St Bernard, 20th August 2015, Sr Angela Finegan made her first profession of monastic vows received by Mother Marie Fahy, Abbess of St Mary’s Abbey, Glencairn and in the presence of our very joyful community.   This ceremony marks the end of Sr Angela’s formal Novitiate period of formation, initiating her as a Junior Professed member of the community and clothed in the black Cistercian Scapular and belt.  She will continue her initial formation for a further three year period, renewing her vows on a yearly basis.Sr Angela comes from Dublin and entered the community in January 2013.Our oldest community member, Sr Lelia, celebrated her 92nd birthday today and also the anniversary of her clothing day as a novice at Glencairn 66 years ago.  We have much to be thankful for.  Please join with us to pray for our oldest and youngest sisters on this very special day for us all!Photo: Sr Michele, novice director, with our happy newly junior professed Sr Angela!
