Sisters and students sing praise!

On Friday 15th October, 2010 the Sisters of Glencairn greeted the students of Loreto Clonmel together with their teachers led by Mr. Martin Boyd who organised this year’s visit. The event took place on a sunny morning here at the Abbey where the sisters shared something of their life experiences of being a Cistercian nun and responded to the many questions of the girls, seeking to understand more about why a young woman would give her life to God in this way. The morning finished with the celebration of the Eucharist for both the sisters and students, and it was indeed a special mass for our community to hear and to join with the sweet singing of our young guests who had prepared so well for the liturgy here, including their beautiful recessional hymn which rounded off with great spirit the day’s events. We continue to remember them in prayer as they prepare for their Junior Certificate in the year ahead.
