French Catholic Scouts Volunteer at Glencairn

The Sisters of Glencairn were delighted to welcome a troop of French Catholic Boy Scouts to St Mary’s Abbey again, following a first group’s visit in the summer of 2022. This years troop from Lille and the surrounding area, arrived on the evening of July 27th and stayed until Thursday 1st August. Happily, we had glorious sunshine for the duration of the visit which greatly facilitated the outdoor work they voluntarily undertook on the farm and in the grounds around the house. We were most impressed with their diligence and exceedingly grateful for all they did. On the day of their departure, several sisters commented on how inspirational they found the commitment to the faith of these young men and how delighted they were by their rendition of a beautiful hymn to Our Lady after Mass on their final day.
