Feast of St Francis

The Sister gardeners and decorators did us proud today in their assembly of a beautiful collage of home produce at the foot of the altar for our annual thanksgiving Mass. All fruit and veg included in the display were grown on site, amongst which there were tomatoes, apples, grapes, pumpkins, artichokes, kohl rabbi, carrots, onions and the most superb cabbages –  Fr Pat Butler said he had never seen the like! Special prayers of thanksgiving for all God’s goodness were offered together with intercessions for a more equitable sharing of world resources and greater care of the environment. Our Holy Father Pope Francis and his needs were also remembered as was the urgent need for peace in the Holy Land.
