Death of Sr Gerard Filgate ocso

Thursday 9th April 2015 saw the passing of our beloved Sr. Gerard (Mai) Filgate.

Sr. Gerard was born in 1926 in Marino, Dublin and entered Glencairn in 1948. She made her solemn profession in 1954. She was 88 yrs old and has been in monastic vows for 64 yrs.

She was a lovely person with a great sense of humour. She was devoted to the Divine Office to which she was so faithful throughout her vowed life.

She had a great send off on the 11th April, surrounded by her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends of whom she was so fond.
We know she is now happy and rejoicing in Heaven singing Alleluia.
