Harvest Thanksgiving
Our community’s annual harvest thanksgiving mass is a welcome moment to reflect on all we have received, both fruits of the harvest of our labour and all our service to each other for which we are grateful to God. At this mass, we place representative samples of all nature’s produce before the altar and give praise and thanks with not a little wonder at the gifts of creation.
Photo: Our sister gardeners Sr Lily, Sr Maria, Sr Liz, Sr Fiachra, Sr Michelle and Sr Anna join together for a photo with their organic produce after our Harvest Thanksgiving Mass this morning. The fruit and vegetables in front of the altar are just a small selection from the wonderful variety produced this year that we have enjoyed after the past months of quiet, prayerful labour in our monastic gardens.
